While the main page here has not been updated in a while, it does not mean that Melbourne Anonymous has slowed or stopped. We are STILL ALIVE and as active as ever. Sorry for the lack of news; we will be continuing to update this page regularly with news.
December, January, and February were all great months for Melbanon (post-game reports will be posted and backdated later). We've been out demonstrating like crazy and have caused massive enturbulation amongst the ranks of the Scientologists here in Melbourne.
In April we planned on having raids every weekend, and each one of them has gathered quite decent numbers.
April 10th On the 10th we held a 12 hour raid, from 9am to 9pm. During this time the Org was shut down tight and their business ground to a halt for the day. They called in false reports to the police who arrived at least 3 times during the day, more annoyed at the Scientologists than anything else; they asked us to keep things how they were, peaceful, and be careful. After the 3rd time the police came by, a Scientologist exited the building and violently assaulted one of our anons, breaking his camera and his glasses and causing him to go to hospital to be checked up on. The Scientologist attempted to flee, but Epic/Poison, two witnesses and the victim of the assault chased him down and put him under citizens arrest. The police were called by the victim and they promptly arrived and arrested the offending Scientologist.
April 17th The 17th was our major raid for April. We began at Flinders Street Station where we recruited a few new members off the street (and they did a great job!) and got lots and lots of signatures. We handed out about 800 fliers at Flinders Street Alone. We had an amateur film crew decide to film us for their documentary on street art (how that relates, I'm not sure) and got a lot of support from the public. We moved onto Bourke Street Mall where we were met by a few other anons who were late. A further 1000 fliers were handed out at there. We were interviewed by a lovely lady who decided to interview us for an assignment.
We moved onto the Org where we were met by our good friend Paul Schofield (ex-scn) who delivered two epic speeches which almost left tears in our eyes. Many many many speeches were made, and we were confronted by some Scientologists who called us "fucking idiots" and others who attempted to ignore us when we tried to ask them to justify their crimes.
Once again, they called the police on us, who came down and said we weren't doing anything wrong and just told us to keep it peaceful.
April 24th The next event by Melbanon is on April 24th. It will be to help us relax after a month of protesting each week. There will be music. There will be cake (hopefully).
Come along! Date: 24th April Time: 3-7pm Meet At: Flinders Street Station Steps
The November 2009 Raid was so full of awesome people wanting to raid hard. Approximately 50 people at the peak of the raid.
We managed to get 250 signatures supporting an official government investigation into scientology. If that isn't win, I don't know what is.
We also had a surprise visitor come and raid with us; Paul Schofield. He presented an awesome speech outside the org, it was amazing to see the courage he presented outside the building, pwning them when they broke their own rules, etc..
Also, don't forget to sign the digital petition in the previous news post; it's important we get as many signatures as possible.
Photos are up in the gallery, to get a better idea of how the day played out; with more pictures to come.

After the MASSIVE success of both the September and October raids, the date of the next raid has been confirmed: November 21st. Last month we had roughly 50 people turn up.
This month we will be focusing on the deaths of Edward McBride and other Scientologists who have died, and the fact that the Church of Scientology in France has been convicted of Fraud.
